From the Hong Kong International Airport

Catch Lantau (blue) taxi for a non-stop journey to Tai O, takes approximately 40 minutes

Take bus S1 (circular route) to Tung Chung and hop off at Citygate, go to bus terminal of New Lantao Bus Co. Ltd. (NLB) and catch bus no.11. The latter journey lasts 45 minutes.

From Central to Tai O

Tung Chung Line links Central with the town of Tung Chung: start from Hong Kong station and terminate at Tung Chung station; change to NLB bus no.11

By ferry
Mui Wo bound fast or slow ferries operated by New World First Ferry Services Limited depart from Central pier no.6, then change to NLB no.1 for a 45 minute ride to Tai O terminus

From Kowloon to Tai O

Lai King station is the connecting point of MTR Tsuen Wan line and Tung Chung line; switch from MTR to bus no.11 as mentioned above

Between Tung Chung and Tai O, an alternative itinerary is via Ngong Ping (Giant Buddha) by cable car and then by NLB bus no. 21 to Tai O; the latter journey is about 20 minutes long)

From Tuen Mun

The Fortune Ferry Co. Ltd. operates ferry services from Tuen Mun to Tai O with stopovers at Tung Chung and Sha Lo Wan

On foot

Hike along the north-western coast of Lantau from Tung Chung to Tai O with the Hong Kong International Airport in the background. The difficulty is easy to moderate and therefore suits the less experienced hikers. The whole journey takes about 4 hours.

Vehicles are prohibited from entering Tai O village. The edifice of Espace Elastique is just 5 minutes' walk from the bus terminus. Give us a call if you are not too sure about the direction and we will come to help.
